I rail against my missus too. But i have to say. We own a new car and our own house coz she said NO more often than she said yes. And she still puts up with me playing with stuff even though she'd like to have SAVINGS. Yes, that dirty word, SAVINGS.

I tell her it's a good way to act in faith. When you don't much saved you have to trust God more. 😉

The problem isn't a bitch or a whimp. The problem is that house prices have risen disproportionately to median income, and our interest rates are way above the rest of the world's. Even a guy on a healthy white collar salary can't enjoy his hobby while buying a bloody house for his wife. Seems like living standards have slipped and nobody noticed.

Not buying, just tire kicking. I'd like to buy Bruce's single cab, but wife just bought a house (how ironic), so hoping there are a few bucks over for the SC.

But then there's the 62 Ambulance .... that's the problem, the little things are affordable, but as one gets older, the stupid ideas and dreams get bigger and more expensive.

Hows the Pug working out?

Hi Pretty blue bug...
I have been in a hospital for a couple of months without the internet and this is the first time I've seen Your Beetle finished.... its quite beautiful....
lovely color, nice wheels etc.....
congratulations......

I finally got mine registered a week before christmas and went into hospital just after xmas so I haven't done much driving in it.... I haven't even finished putting down the carpet yet..... and I have chrome wheels My Son bought for Me which aren't on as yet either.....

anyway Your Beetle looks stunning.......

I know what you mean about expensive ideas getting out of hand.

the pug is great, the missus drove a corolla (her initally pic) the other day and says she's happy we got the pug now. shame someone backed into it at the shops yesterday and dinged it, then drove off leaving us to pay for it to get fixed. 🙁

although My Wife doesn't know how much I spent on My Beetle.... as it was done over a number of years...
[because of My medical condition....] and most items were ordered or bought thru the internet from VW shops who advertise here or on ebay......
and most items were delivered while she was at work.....

I'm sure you're on to something. That's the trouble with throwing the baby out with the bath water. People want things all their own way without considering the consequences.

Marriage is about sacrifice on both sides. Ie, doing what is best for your partner...not what you necessarily want.Sometimes that means saying no, that is not something that I will do, or to your partner, no I don't think you should do that coz it's bad for you and bad for us. That is real love. Real love is selfless.

The next thing is, marriage is about owning up when you screwed up, and then forgiving your partner when they do the same. The big words are repentance and forgiveness.

Sounds like both parties in the Ebay ad need to practice some sacrificing and some repetance and forgiveness. Otherwise, I am quite concerned about their future. If I had a mates wife traeting him like that and then him venting on Ebay, I'd be sending them to marriage counselling quicksmart. :o

p.s. sorry if I sound preachy, must be my job spilling over into my hobbies 🙂

You said it. What a loser. Getting what he deserves. I got my first scoot when I had 2 kids, and my wife won't let me sell it. She LIKES that I ride a motorbike, because she knows how much I enjoy it, and understands it is like therapy for me - can't think of anything else when you're in the twisty's. Shit, this guy will live on his knees, and become a sad and bitter man.

Probably all complete bollocks of course, just to get people to send his add link around, but it does sound a little too detailed for complete fabrication.
