Caster angle on raised front end?

https://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/threads/50071/caster-angle-on-raised-front-end

Anthiron ·

ok so when u lower the front of the bug or bus you should get some caster shims to bring caster back to stock or closer to stock to improve ride.

so when u raise a front end does the oppisite happen? should caster shims be put on the top mounts of a raised front end? or does the raising just improve the caster further?

raising it will give you better caster..............although this will reduce your turning ability.

Anthiron ·

ok so i lose turning.....what benefits does one get with "better" caster?

Don't forget Nick you've raised the rear so wouldn't that cancel out the front?

better steering feel, self-centring tendency and straight-line stability. All good

oh im not talking about my car in particular barry im just interested.

though when i raise the front it would come into play.

Raising the rear will not counteract completely the effect of raising the front, net result will always be more caster. Caster affects handling not ride.
