Hi Karmen,

There are 2 different versions of these and they are quite difficult to remove an reinstall.

Volksbahn have NOS ones of these.

Good Luck,

George at Classic Vee-Dub at Rydalmere has them, about $5.00 each, - of course they are not for the 1954 doors which are ever so slightly different, I spent about 4 hours making one dammit

karmen ·

what u use ...clothes pef spring ?? K-Kim

kombikim ·

well, it is really sad, I bought a few mouse traps & pulled apart a few pegs, but could not get it right, the diameter of the hole being critical - ended up raiding my stash of compression type springs & carefully unwinding the ends & bending them, broke a few - wwould not like to do it again, but it did work, far better to buy the new $4.99 ones from George if you have the 55 - on doors, they are listed with a pic on his monthly specials at the mpment

karmen ·

u mean gudgeon pin springs ??

any links to George pls?

kombikim ·

no, just the little springs like you find in click top pens, & old cassette players etc, in fact any coiled spring, that you can reshape with 3 hands & a couple pairs of long nose lpiers without it breaking
