whilst trawlimng thru ebay i happened across this "vw emblem" can anyone tell me what it belongs to given it has a starting bid of 700 big ones ???? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Early-Rare-VW-Bonnet-Emblem-Volks-Wagon_W0QQitemZ4627621260QQcategoryZ72456QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Never seen one of those before, but it'd look sweet on a Bug! :P

I'm guessing it's 700 big ones because it's a consignment piece, and it's an antiques place selling it... so the owner wants a fair bit for it, and the antique dudes want a share of it's worth too. Bit of a shame....

It looks as though it is off a Wolsley-Vauxhaul.. These were a British car made in the late 40's early 50's (Now known as Vauxhaul)

In 1901 Vickers were the owners of the Wolseley Tool & Motor Car Company Limited

William Morris (later to become Lord Nuffield) purchased the company in October 1926 for £730,000.
