anyone know if type 4s use the same thermostats as type 1?
they look the same

No they are different, last time I check the T4 thermo was NLA.

Hi

The Type 4 ones have an external thread for the cable hockup, the Type 1 ones have an internal thread for the pushrod hockup. I guess that they would also have different temp ratings as well.
