Type 3 chokes - same as Kombi?

I've just finished rebuilding the carbs 32-PDSIT-2/3 on my wife's Type 3 1500S. One of the chokes is tuffed which makes an interesting warm up.

Can you still buy these choke heater elements?

Now I know Kombi's run a later version of the PDSIT and I was wondering if they are interchangable? Interesting that the left and right chokes are different and marked L & R. something to do with the diretion the spring turns.

You can still buy them, but they are around $85-100 each. The springs turn in opposite directions as they heat up.

Sorry, don't know if kombi ones are the same.
