It'll be on the Saturday 13th May. We'll all meet at FTG Maccas (Burwood Hwy) carpark at 4:30pm, and we'll be leaving at 4:50pm. Should be good!

Just a suggestions as well, here's an extension of the dandy cruise that we didn't go on last time if you're interested..
Start at Ferntree Gully Filthhole, I mean, Maccas.

Turn left into Observatory Rd
Check out the sunset *hope it's a clear night!*

*There's a 'service rd' at that T intersection where we'll briefly pull over for a small breather and to say goodbye to anyone that want's to leave the convoy from there. For the rest of us who are keen:

Turn right into York St
Turn right at the round-a-bout into Monbulk Rd
Turn right into Main Rd

Christofu, that itinerary sounds terribly A-OK. I went up to Ferny Creek on Saturday in my PBB (drove from Murrumbeena) and the skies opened up and made for a very interesting and not too visible drive there and back! LOL

I just read the first post again...we should prolly start as early as possible to try catch the sunset which is at about 17:48 for that part of town... 40 mins to get up there from Ferntree Gully Macca's (with time to spare) ... that may be a bit early for ppl if everyone's working...

tell me about it. The place I work is open 24 hours usually. I've seen ppl LINE UP OUTSIDE AT 8AM the next day it's open... there's something wrong when you line up waiting to get into a shop...unless it's the Myer Stocktake sale on a few years ago where you could get 80% off tvs or something.. or when the VW dealership is selling R32's for $5000....(I wish!)

I had a look in the Melways though, and it runs past the resevoir which could be a good place to stop and chill for a bit...

Hehe, yeah like this sound cool! There's a great lookout spot near the TV towers, it's better than the sky high place, or whatever they're styling that restaurant now (and it's free...). Not a huge amount of parking and kinda steepish and a two minute walk down a steep track, but phft, we'll be right hey!

I can't cruise today!!
Went and saw Opeth last night (was SO damn awesome!) and went back to the parking lot to go home, you think my PBB wanted to start? No!! 😠
Headlights weren't left on and still worked, battery wasn't flat, just nothing when I tried to turn her over. Poor Eden had to push her outside the parking lot (whicvh was full of people from the gig, how embarrassing!) as it was 11:55pm and they lock up at midnight. We even tried to roll start her but she didn't want to.
So we waited outside for 15mins in the freeeezing cold for the RACV dude to get there. He was a big fat dude with a plumbers crack bigger than the Grand Canyon... so what's the verdict? Starter motor, the only thing I haven't replaced as yet since owning the car. After a few knocks she starts up and we drop her off to mechanics at 1am. Not happy Jan!!
The day is perfect for cruising, trust my luck to make us miss out...

There's a place called Credos up there in Olinda- very nice, prices are pretty normal though. There's another restaurant I've visited - right near the junction of Ridge Rd and MT Dandy Tourist Rd - veeery nice food, but a bit on the exy side..

Credos is reasonable - meals at about $15-17 for a very nice rissotto.... There's a good view of the road and car park across the road - where we can park all our dubs!

We had 'Bug Macs' at Maccas... 😂 j/k
About 10 of us met up at Maaccas FTG and chatted for a while in the cold, then went on our merry way up to Sky High where it was effin freezing! :duh
Christofu's little Tofu led the way and that thing can go pretty good! 😉
I don't know what happened to Stuy and his little old Nana Bug.
We managed to lose mscabrio just before the restaurant... she ended up going on an adventure of her own before Rod flew down in Lello to rescue her and bring her back.
Empi, you SO should have come up with us! Credos was a great restaurant with some fancy but very tasty food.
Pity Damien and Jenna couldn't have come along too for eats.
Brett, it was great to meet you and see your Smiley Sunny Bus! Definitely can't wait to see some more of your photos in the future.
Tracey, I hope Jane let you get home not too much more frazzled. Maybe her name should be Jane the Pain 'cos it's what she causes you? :P
Honestly, it was so good to catch up with everyone. Eden, check out the photos you took and put a couple up here! Wish I had of brought my camera too, but all batteries are flat or lost... d'oh!
We'll have to organise another Cruise for Food soon. 😀
.... and remember, if anyone is suffering from Veedubbalitus, call Dr PBB and she might be able to prescribe something.... 😉

Thanks to everyone for coming up/down/across. It was good to see some old faces (as in, previous faces, not "old" as in hagged and weather beaten) and some new ones too - new "hellos" to Bret and John and his family. Sorry I didnt get to say to Stuy.. It was good work of Empi to bring his KG to show us - seriously brah, i dig the roof colour and detail. At maccas, we had 4 beetles, 1 new beetle, 1 fasty,1 early KG,1 bay kombi and one Mk2 GTi Golf...
The cruise was probably faster paced than normal - I like to stretch the 1200's legs on the twisties of Mt Dandy.. Fekkinel did a great job of keeping up in his brick, I mean Bay.. and PBB was riding my bumper most of the way too..
I hope everyone enjoyed the dinner and that the Rod, Trace and Kate made it home without any furthur dilemas.. Maybe you should change Jane's name to Eva.. coz she's a right Naz... 😉

It was really great to meet everyone and finally put some faces to the names. Was kinda ironic that i was joking about being sick to skip work, and karma caught me and now i'm actually sick lol
Can't wait to do it all again sometime without the coughing hehe
I must say it was quite an experience screaming up the Dandenongs amongst all the beetles... makes me wanna run out and get myself one aswell. Not that I don't love my bus or anything lol

Thanks for a great cruise guys, I had a great time although the drive there was a little shall we say "drama filled" ???????
Interestingly though, Jane's engine cut out on exactly the same turn twice so she is off to the doctors for a little check up. We made a truce on the way home and she apologised for being such a right royal pain.
Looking forward to the next one ..........

Thanks Rod, you didn't finish all ya greens though, good thing you didn't have dessert - you bad bad boy... lunch and coffee up there sometime perhaps.. there's plenty of cafes and such - there's a good one Called Rendevouz(sp) on the other corner off Ridge and Mt Dandy Tourist Rd, overlooking the resevoir... plenty of parking, and right at a T-intersection so you can't relaly get lost.... next time....
