Over 28,000 kms.....did it about 7 years ago. Do it! Best thing you'll ever do!

Yeah, do it for sure mate. I wanna. My dad did it, my mate's family did it, they now have so many memories.
Happy ones of course.
Isn't there suppose to be a fun road too around australia where there is no speed limits?

take more then 6 months, i had six months, rushed (although i did spend 2 of those months stationary whilst working) and only made it 1/2 way. take at least 12 months. as for kms? aloti think i was on 12-13000 from melbourne to Darwin the coastal way.

I once went to nambucca via ayers rock. I think it was about 8500 and did it in a week though the last 36 hours straight was on a bus after I dropped a seat in Mt Isa. Did it so I could do 200kmh legally. I also lost a day due to being severely hungover after a night out at the casino.
I went one better for my honeyoon when I did 14000kms in 2 1/2 weeks and did plenty. Sydney - Port Augusta - Uluru - Kings Canyon - Katherine Gorge -Darwin - Kakadu - back through Queensland down to Sydney. But then you look on the map and its only a thrid of the way around. I plan to do a hotlap one day. I want to do every capital city and I want to do it in less than a month. The only killer is tasmania. The ferry ride will slow me down.
Baja Chris, all Northern Territory roads outside of built up areas are unlimited speed. I was doing 140 in my kombi and I got smoked by 2 bikes. Didnt see them coming, barely saw them going, just a frikken loud noise as they blasted past my window scaring the shit out of me. They must have been doing 300kmh or thereabouts.

correct on both counts - if i had a cb that is.
say 35000km at $1.?0/l av price = allow $5500. pales into insignificance against the alcahol allowance for 52 weeks
:]

It is apparently better to go anti-clockwise to get less wind problems.
It is also slightly shorter LOL :thumb

A friend did it on a push bike. He rode 22,000 Kms. I imagine he was looking for the shortest route.. 🤪
