How much does it suck to see other vee dubs driving around having fun while ur a pedestrian just dreamin of being those lucky proud owners behind the wheel.

A couple a nights before I got my girl, I couldnt sleep.....
The day i was due to get her, I sat on my front balcony ears pealed for that familiar sound to come up the street.... it was like being a kid on Christmas.... and I'm in my 30's.......

yeah. i got one, its just far from being alive.
And money is always a limiting factor, especially time with uni.
Its gonna be a while before anything major happens.
The biggest achievement i would luv, which maybe a while, would be to hear the sweet daka daka coming from the rear of the 69. Wouldn't i be happy.
Can't do that though till i get a box, an engine, manual conversion, and rewire it up and connect things together.
Got prices on all, but money is trickling. Parents want me to get my Ps before i go hard nut on this car.
Was thinking about going to the wreckers and taking a look at a few hydraulic clutches....
No use till i get a box though 🙁

yeah i hear that, i have had the new engine sitting next to my bus for over a month now and havent had a minute to touch it 'cause of uni. finally started on it in the easter break, got it in yesterday so Im stoked, now only plumbing and wiring to go 😀 Youl get there, and you know it'l be worth it when you get to that first ride.

Unless money is really tight. you could do what I did because of DakDak withdrawals. I bought a cheap, registered, running Beetle and put Herbie numbers and stripes on it. All up it cost less than $1,000. Now I have a really cool, quite daggy Herbie of the incorrect model, which is far from immaculate, but I don't care. The local kids and the kids at the high school where I work love it. All the time I get waves and shouts of "Hey! Herbie!" from people of all ages and kids in passing cars hanging out the windows waving and shouting. How cool is that?

virtually what i did too, my parents got sick of me driving their car so leant me some money and i scored a solid reliable type3 wagon which owes me about 2k including rego. a little harder to bargain tho without having licence, get your licence then bug them for a runaround 😏

Had some fun today cruising with Brenton today.
Driving with him.
He let me have a little drive, to his fright. The car still in one piece, but the gears, Getting confused. Along wiht the left side indicators.
I only know how to thrash em offroad. Lol.
Hope those 5000 revs in gear 1 didn't hurt it too much.....

One day i will get there, i just gotta be patient. Wait my turn. It will come... one day.
(Just save some fuel for me. Lol, hopefully oil doesn't run out by the time i get a dub ready Lol)
