I usually be really careful moving these things, up and down when i need to, when the bonnet is off.
Its a weapon, and poor Brenton got a taste of the sharp edge on it yesterday.
I got a taste of it too today. I put it up, to move some wires, put it back down, but the wires fell back, getting earthed cause the hinge was resting on it, so while i was pulling on those wires, the hinge flun up into my chest, giving me a nice big bruise and a sore on my upper right side.
Was lucky it was nothing more than that. Broken rib, punctured lung, all of that is possible to happen. Lucky it didn't.
I think my car was jealous i spent more time with veronica yesterday than with IT. (Haven't given mine an official gender or name yet Lol)
So, everyone, please be careful of spring hinges, they are dangerous, and you can never be too careful!!

yes I got belted by a Type 3 wagon tailgate hinge. They are stronger than Beetle ones... Much stronger! I thought I'd been shot by my next door neighbour who was a cop.... The result was five stitches in my eyebrow and it was fukken lucky I wasn't standing closer as it would have taken out my eye - and the bit of skull above it

Holy crap! :jesus
Lucky hey.
