my indicator, some times i put it on and its fine. other times i put it on and it ticks a couple time or never. anyway when it stops ticking i can WHACK the steering wheel and it turns on perm. or for a second. if i play with the hazard lights it rarely turns back on. continual pressure on the steering wheel generaly keeps it on.

It will be a wire in the quick disconnect plugs under the steering coloum they usually pull out of the plastic plug that they clip into.

Could be the ticker switch relay.

May be the indicator switch itself that is faulty (how old is it )and is occassionally losing contact on the switch
