I am building a kit car and I am in need of a complete old style Type 1 steering column. I have two which don't have good indicator switches and which don't have the steering lock. The ADRs demand a steering or gearshift lock. The type I want must have the long slots in the steering wheel head, must have a good ignition switch, a working steering lock, a good indicator switch and all of the wiring. I don't need the steering column itself, the tube or the steering wheel.
Alternatively, a good indicator switch and a locking ignition switch that will fit will do.
Please U2U me if you can help. Thanks.

I had a feeling that I was trying to "buy to the guts of a straight".
Damn the ADRs. They are driving me mad. I must have a steering wheel lock or a gearshift lock. The instrument panel is designed for an older type 1 steering column. Back to the drawing board. I have a good 73 column in my Herbie, but I don't want to disable it for the sake of a steering column.
Thanks for your help.

will you get away with $30 crook lock? no fitting no labour no stuffing up AND
more deterring than no visible thing
or immobiliser?

No Karmen. A crooklock or similar will not do. I have to have the car passed by the engineering section of the motor transport bureacracy and the car must be fitted with a working steering or geashift lock that locks automatically upon removal of the ignition key. It's just another reason why I am having so much hassle with getting a kit car to comply with the rules.
