Hi its your resident Back to 89 pomme!

Have a look at the website and let me know what you guys think?

BACK TO 89 WEBSITE

Phase 1 was the construction site with new left bar links added during the past year. However behind the scenes phase 2 has been built.

Phase 2 has:

- over 600 pictures from the nostalgia archives
- Volkslore section giving the story of Thump! Thump! (with workshop pics) and The Paintbox as well as a register on most of the cars on the books.
- Back to 89 club
- Nostalgia Store
- Magazine Store (email me for a list of current mags available)
- European Nostalgia (European Nostalgia with Tobias)
- The Feature Car section will be showing "Blue Nun" the sedan/wizard built by California Bug Shop in the Midlands.
- Links

Bug Jam this year will be the annual Back to 89 Display, and be sure to check out the new publication fanzine called "Volkslore" on sale at Bug Jam.

Heres a pic of my car and one of our most famous cars!

Well done,
took a quick read of a few pages, nice layout and quick to load (except for the pics page, but then, you'd expect that wouldn't you!).
Good luck with it as you head into your 6th year then 馃榾馃憤

I remember when BillaBug first hit the tarmac. What an innovative car for the scene. And it looks good today.

Heres one for Glynn as I know he frequents this forum...this is his car at Detling by the looks of it, Glynn shipped the car over to Oz when he moved out there.

Glad you like the site.

Afraid not...there were 8 Targa's done by Thump! Thump!. Only two were turnkey cars.

"Targa" above is the original one, and won Europes Most Beautiful VW 1990 at Bug Jam.

"Lemon Bavois" was built for Darren Peat in Leeds and has the targa top removed from the top of the windscreen. This car is still about but the owner doesnt bring it out to shows much. The colour was a very yellow/lime tint (BMW color) and not beige.

"Mirage" is another Targa top car with mods done by Thump! Thump! but the paint etc done elsewhere. The car has a new owner who has had Targa bumpers and mods done by The Paintbox. Jay added fully polished Fuchs and it looks real nice!

On my website go to the "Volkslore" Pages and "Thump! Thump!" for the full rundown on the cars and the story.

Glynn's car is still getting around Adelaide.
I see it on the road infrequently.

unfortunately doesn't look anywhere near the show car it used to be. 馃槩

Well with it being done over 10years ago its good that it still gets about.

Theres a copy of it over here called Glass and a Half with rear safari pop out window as well as the front one.

Glynns car still gets talked about over here as many remember that front screen and the subtle mods. Think Glynn was the only one that took his wheels off to show the underside back in the fond days of Beetle Bashes!
