Well.... Rod had a turbo deal on here that he posted yesterday, which I missed out on, as I have just been told 🙁 . And my 2276 is slowly coming together.... I have spent a load of coin so far and there is still more to come.... I need to move on some gear that I will not be using to help pay for the 'big one' thats going into my Ragtop!..... Im still undecided on the transaxle options though!!!

Well... I have my brother worried.... His Turbo Subi powered Notch is looking a little slow compare to the car I haven't even built yet!... LOL!
:P:P
Craig Torrens ·
How much for the lightened flywheel by itself ?
humpty ·
Its really gotta go with the crank as its a matched set....
humpty ·
Come on Craig... you know you wanna buy all the bits.... I give you free shipping if you take all of the stuff!
seagull ·
Not at the * cost * of building the motor he will
nor I can not take the rag as the motor will not last 10 years

Yeah right..... All my engines have lasted well over decade between rebuild... This one will be no different!... The cost is irrelevant.... I have been wanting to build a balls-out aircooler for years.... It wont be a smooth as a Subi or as cheap to run, but it will prolly be the fastest aircooled VeeDub in Perth!.... And thats what counts!.... And I'll still have my two Subi powered Veedubs in the shed to mess with when I get tired of valve adjustments!!!! :kiss
seagull ·
come on & build it & lets race !
humpty ·
Get Lloyd off his lasyass and get those rotors done, so I can get it rolling again.... And we have to do those beams.... And I need that swirl pot and that transaxle and I have to build up the EFI, and the intake, and the exhaust, and the rego, and... and...
Ill prolly get it rego'd with the 1776 in it first.... And do the 2276 in the new year, when study is over.....
seagull ·
MMM yes LLoyd
I have the efi from the legacy 2ltr here .I should of showed you that !
swirl pots are under way
I need to do my own dam ride
I need some drugs so I going into KCW for a fix back soon !
nothing like that to get you going

is the case used? how old is it?
humpty ·
76bug wrote:is the case used? how old is it?
Yes id is used and dunno how old, but is an OEM German case... Its dual relief I think, so it woul be 1970's vintage.... But it has been checked and deemed to be good.
76bug ·
wot number does it have stamped on it?
seagull ·
I think this compressor is still cheap for the bits you get
I did a seat of heads for waynes motor and they cost $200.00 each & that was mates rates , payed cash .
for what you get is a good deal for a air compressor
humpty ·
Hey 76bug.... Just had a closer look at the case....
Its a single relief TIII universal case, so the number is a little wierd....
0613538.... It has a Vw symbol next to it also..... Its a very strange number, but hey its a cheap deal!
Doug Sweetman ·
Simon,
Shame you didnt have some cheap ratio rockers, I might have been keen.
But this is mainly a free BUMP for you 🙂
Doug
humpty ·
Cheers Dougy.... My bro has some OEM 1.25's I think.... But if your looking for something in particular, I could prolly get'em for ya.....
humpty ·
bump!
seagull ·
rebuild for air compressor :thumb
humpty ·
Seems like Im another casualty of the dredded "east - west" shift..... It never works!!!!.... What happened to all those ppl that wanted to build a 1915 not so long ago?
seagull ·
hate to say it
Subaru = bigger air compressor 🙂 :cry
humpty ·
Well.... I do need an air compressor!!!!.... And if it could so the quarter mile in 14 seconds or better I'd be a happy man!
seagull ·
a bump for my Mate , as he needs all the help he can get
Its Tax time soon some ones going to get a good deal
71superbug ·
come onnn. someone has got to want these. i would be buying these up if someone didnt convince me into buying a damn watercooled compressor *points at neil*
:bounce
Anthony
humpty ·
Yeah... And when all you Subi powered VW guys get pissed off with all the coolant hassles and legal shite, with little value on the performance - dollar return, you'll all be asking me for those cool old school VW performance parts, wishing you never ever stuck that bloody piece'o'crap JDM shite in the back of your dub! 😂
seagull ·
what a load of shit ( ! )
what was that dam SUBARU 2.5 ltr MOTOR doing in the back of the wagon at my place last week ?
Thats right I recall ( WE ) put it there ( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )👍
come & get you fly wheel
& bring my dam pull down back !
You as well Anthony I want my pull down back !

humpty ·

seagull ·

humpty ·
Heee, heeee.... That wasn't me, it was that bloody ute that crazy tasmainian drives!
seagull ·
Paul should be back soon ?
Time to get some work done , night shifts at my place ?
humpty ·
I need to move this stuff on fellas..... come on.... This is a very cheap hottie for someone here..... Give me 2K and I'll build the bloody thing and fit it to your car for you!!!!
seagull ·
bump for Simons air cooled bits
humpty ·
You need t start a thread to your build up N.... And stick a link to it in your signature...... Might get some other motivated....
Did I tell you I did some work on the Rag this week......
Yeah....
I moved it from against the wall in the shed to the middle of the shed!!!! 😉
My job here is done.....
seagull ·
Mate , I have just worked out how to load a photo .( in my day ) this machine was some thing we read about .
Did I tell you air cooled are for people you lean forward going up hills ( it helps try it )
:P
humpty ·
LOL.... You are a funny bugger!
crzbug67 ·
hi is the cw69mm crank under sized and if so how far and what is the lowest price you will take i also need some new stock sized heads as well if you know of any going cheap thanx.
humpty ·
Its still on the OEM grind..... And the price is solid.... I'll only talk price if somebody wants the whole lot.... Don't have any new stock heads for sale.... Best bet is to see your freindly neighborhood VW retailer..... New stock heads are fairly cheap..... Just watch out for quality.... They do vary....
Adolph ·
Hi Simon
I know the quickest bug in the West is going to be a Ragtop and Turboed.
BUT will it be yours?
I wish I had the money for some of those parts, but I must save for those Axles and some other partsI need for my rag.
P.S. Did that rear window work?
Hermann
humpty ·
LOL... Hermann... I think yours may be faster, but I will be able to drive mine to the track!..... He, he.... Just jokes mate.... Yours will be a rocket and I want a ride in that baby as soon as you have it on the road!.... That machine is mad!....
The window was not needed in the end.... Neil picked up a very tidy 66 for nix, so he got all the bits he needed to finish the bug.....
PS:... You need to add a link to your www in your signature.... People need to see that sucker!
humpty ·
All sold save for the Stock 69mm crank...
1x stock 69mm crank with stock rods and FW, all balanced and rebuilt....$200
