Hi

I had a long term borrow of one of those cars, it was a Gordini version, I loved it.

Yeah. I did the round trip Melbourne to Canberra several times in a Renault Gordini and also in a Renault 10. They are great little cars. Many of the dune buggies on the French roads are based on rear engined Renaults.

Love em , this one inparticular.

There is one on the edge of a cliff in an ad for softdrink on telly.

pete wood ·

is there a VW pan under that?

Looks tops, must be making the froggy car purists cranky! 😁

68AutoBug ·

It looks like its half VW.... lol..

I think their original engine was around 998cc...

The R8 & R10 were 1100cc.... Gordinis were a bit more I think....

I had a 1970 R10 Renault with 4 wheel disc brakes -
they were Standard....

very nice, always wanted to rod one of those👍👍

looks awesome.

pete wood ·

look out early renault owners. This might well be the first of many. 👍

Be kind of just really. The car the French made Ferdinand Porsche design in gaol after WW2 (which led to his death due to ill health) eventually became the dauphine and it's latter variants.

Bump that sucker

I saw 2 of em at a Vw place in Melbourne. not as cool as this one but pretty ratty.

Yeah, R8, R10, and then the mighty R10s (duel throat webber doncha know, each throat about the size of a pencil I reckon) went like the clappers.
