i was thinking that we should get a massive crew together and rock up at Harry's Diner one friday night!
you get tired of the same ol chevs and ricers every week - the people demand satisfaction!
so if ye' all keen maybe Friday June 2nd (give everyone a fortnight to organise and to pray the weather is nice on the night)
anything VW - no trophies - no worries - just one kickass night aimed to add a bit of variety to the lives of those who seek it...
friday nights usually heat up around 7:30 and finish up at about 9ish - most will do a tough lap through the city following so if we're keen then its on like donkey kong!!!!

Guys,
Please be aware that Harrys Diner is a great hang out for the boys in blue as well. Daughter has been there before (not in her car...they walked) and no car was allowed out of the place until it had been gone through.(sort of like Broadwater Car Park on a Saturday night)
Make sure there is nothing you can be pinged on.

there was a massive crack down a while back - a few months after those two people were killed/injured by that T-Bucket. There was a lull where noone went for some time to the point where i think they came close to closing.... then as it became popular again police were there in force - like 3 patrol cars, 3 bikes patrolling the strip and the entrance/exit was videotaped/regos taken etc.
since about february though its no longer as intense as mentioned above or by midlife, you might get 1 drive past or an undercover drive in for a look and drive out. possibly a parked camera up the road for those who drag from the lights etc...
i take my bug down every week and have no issues.
start no trouble get no trouble. do stupid shit and get burnt...

If you act like a wanker, expect to be treated like one. The police have no problem with enthusiasts getting together to enjoy cars. It's the small number of morons who insist on dropping sets and doing donuts that pisses them off. If you want to show off, take it to the track.

I have never been in trouble by the cops ever, the reason i hate em is that i witnessed what happened at the Triple Z Market day as i was there in the late 90's when they just started bashing people for no reason, and yes i would love to slap the 66 together but she is still a long way off yet mate, i am aiming for the drag meet at warick park though in september.

I wanted to bring my girls there so they can see all the cool vw rides. the eldest one 16yo, is now begging for a vw ride...and i want her to see whats in the range....and what can be done with them ....

sort of skimmed over a couple of comments re: v8s and jerks etc - at the end of the day what others think is irrelevant - its funny though when you think that half the young kids like myself that stand at the front and egg those they are there to watch on etc at the end of the night are going to walk next door and hop in their excels or their carollas or whatever.
id personally rather have a "dakdak" than nothing at all 🙂

far out - deadset just spent a good half an hour scrolling back through postings by "dannyboy"(of whom have not heared from in a long time), back to september 2004 lol to his 67 beetle that sold to a nice girl named claudia up here in vegas....
saw the bug parked and left another of my infamous notes thanks to a dodge bit of torn up lec note hehe
my pen was almost out and was starting to get real desperate - reminded me of simpsons - "use a pen side-show bob" when he is in jail writing a letter in blood... goldust!
anywho - enough ranting - might bring back some memories and will hopefully see clauds on the night

Only got got to meet the guys who where standing around there cars (It's abit hard to meet people you don't know if they are in the Cafe)
Is the Sabre the white Kit Car?
I would have loved to see the engine bay of this car, is there any chance I could meet you somewhere to have a look at it in the light? My kit car is also running a Subaru engine http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=53476 but I have never driven it (It is still not going) so I have many question :P
I tried to hang around as long as I could but the wife was complaining it was too cold.. :cry so in the interest of world peace, I took her home..
