whats up with VWCV
no advertising for saturdays concours(which is free in the biggest newspaper in the state)
this seems to happen for every event
aren't they interested in spreading the word
DOVW $$spent on advertising- $90
last time i looked at the website the last event on there was 2001 DOVW at altona
are they serious?

How true. If they need help with updating the site, perhaps they could ask, Im sure they would get heaps of offers. While we are at it, why is there always crappy articles about the new Audi or Porsche or whatever, in the monthly newsletter. Why not an article or two about a members car or something we can relate to, it is afterall the volksy club not the "I wish I were driving an Audi Club". If I want to read about the new Audi, I will just go and buy a subcription to modern motor magazine, at least it will be in colour, and I can see were my money has gone. Someone elses recycled photocopied colourless irrelevant sales pitch doesn't really do much for my love of Volkswagens. Maybe my hopes were too high.

they usually ask at the meetings for help with things but get no offers. Any member is welcome to offer assistance to the committee or for specific events etc at any time... just ring them up and offer.

you are both correct... things could be done better.
Ads should be in the paper leading up to each event.
Events should be listed on here leading up to them.
The website and magazine need to be up to date and relative to everyone.

Prob the best way to get more out of the club is to put more in. Attending the monthly meetings would be a great way to introduce your ideas, and they'd welcome you and any ideas with open arms.
No-one's on the payroll there. It's all done by pretty much the same diligent few year in year out. A club develops through the input of its members.
The website's looking pretty slick these days. Have a look.
Btw I'm not leading by example here.

No me either. The club seems to have peaks and troughs. Last year was awesome, there were more events then you could poke a stick at. I felt like I was going to a VW thing every second weekend, but it seems to have slowed down a little this year. It is the same club members that do everything, organising, catering, judging etc etc and they do an awesome job but they also have lives outside of VW world and I am sure that they are over thinking of everything. It is up to us as club members to contribute more to ensure the smooth running of our events.
