A mate of mine is looking for a Samba roof for his Split.
Is he dreaming? If not what would one cost?
crewcabconnection ·
nothing wrong with dreaming.
Dasdubber ·
Yep I've been looking for one for about 5 years - hope he has better luck than me. I'm sure they are out there but may have to try and source one from the US if he has a chance?? :duh
64vwmark ·
If he found one, what would it be worth?
kustomkool ·
how much it would be worth is the biggest question let just say"FARKIN HEAPS"
crewcabconnection ·
Ask Rob K or Muller ... fitting a Samba roof is not easy, does he have the glass too...but then it will still be a windowed van with a samba roof, if you get my meaning, so wont actually be a Samba ... that is to say if he's chasing the perceived $$$ for a Samba.
Bit like a Chop-top Beetle vs a real Cabrio. Does the job, but isn't the same thing. The roof section itself will be worth more than a roof, but then the cost of application would be significant. Ask Muller about the pro-s and cons.

i think they make them in the UK now, may be the cheaper option.

Alan Schofield makes kits also i think Creative engineering both in the UK
Bizarre ·
Cant you "just" cut the windows and sun roof in???
Thought i read/saw some where all busses have a pressed section where the skylights go??
Dunno - i'm a beetle person

You can get them from the UK, remember the 2002 brand new old samba?
If you had a samba to cut the roof out of it would be worth more to resto the samba.
Would it be a samba with a new body or a body with a new roof?
empi ·
Sambas have diffrent floors too..
empi ·
There are lots of diffrent little details that are Samba unique underside of floor, clock in dash etc.
