How cool is this. If anybody has one of these in transportable condition, i'm interested in it!

Hi James,
there are a few of these about....
although You will have to get one soon, or they will be like VW country buggys....

Rare and costly.....

Many have already been 'collected' :o:o

I did see one at a VW show a few years ago....

the engine sat behind the drivers seat...

so I don't think it would pass the Ocupational Health & safety rules in regard of Noise levels..... :P:P:P

But, You could adjust the distributor etc in heavy rain without getting wet.... :P:P:P

Its so ugly its cute.... and its German....

I would buy the ebay one.

It is in great condition compared to the others i have seen

empi ·

yeah thats the one in tamworth... the country music capital of Australia!!! and where my cousins live.

Tempting.....sooooooo tempting, only a few days to go.........................

vsleepy ·

I'd seriously considerit if the vehicle was towable, but living in perth its a long way to get it transported. expecially not running/rolling

Yes,
I lot more fiddling around and maybe just too difficult
[or impossible] to get home...

I suppose most of them ended up at wreckers yards...

and they are over 50 years old....

thats a lot of time to have them disappear.....

and who keeps old trucks.... with an engine in the cabin??

Best of Luck finding one... over Your way...

Although i do need a holiday, perhaps a 'get the bastard rolling' type holiday.... how is tamworth this time of year?

68AutoBug ·

Well You can leave Your sunglasses at home....

I'm about 100 kms south of Tamworth

It was around minus -1C here this morning....

that would make it about minus -3C or 4 in Tamworth...

and thats really Cold .... and its getting colder.....

cheers

Hertz ·

I know someone who just found one, Empi, you know him too, so they must be around.

empi ·

Yeah ..... its only a matter of time before he lets me Lower it!!!! hehehehehehhehehehehehe!

Hertz ·

Can you lower one any more than they are. Looks like the dudes at the factory already had a thing for slammed rides.

66deluxe ·

For a $1000 bucks i'd buy it, they are ugly and hot at the same time.

empi ·

OOOOOHHHHH!!! Dont get me started on what i would do to it...

66deluxe ·

I would have to squeeze an early 911 donk in it say 2.4 or 2.7.

VWCOOL ·

put a Subie in it...

speedster356 ·

Now that would look nice with a VW Lakester on the flatbed.

Joel ·

mate, i dont intend to piss you off and i dont know who owns it.

but

its still only at $1225 (whats a similar 1952 xyz worth in the same cond), it is his machine, it is rare, it atlleast looks a pretty good reso prospect.

its in a shed and looks looked after so it is in waay better shape than the many classics that have returned to the earth in the "back paddock" on the prospect of a "one day" resto.

he can reserve it whatever he wants.

vsleepy ·

spoke to the guy, and lets just say reserve is a loooooong way off
