BRM\'s

Just put on my new pair of chrome BRM's on my 67. Has anyone else had a problem with the front caps. They don't fit over grease caps for the wheels bearing covers on the wheel cylinders. Is this a problem for everyone fitting BRMS? What is the solution? Please help. I have these sweet looking rims, but I am rolling without the caps on the rims.

Yes it is a problem on early cars,
You will need to remove the greese cap and grind off the extra bit of stub axle that sticks out past the 2 retaining nuts, then flatten out the end of the greese caps a bit with a hammer till the caps clear, the speedo cable needs to be ground a bit too, I use silastic to hold it in place.

no problem with them on my 4 lug brms on my 68, but i had the same problem with the rears 🙂

there are longer caps. i may be able to swap you some in the near future...

That would be sweet bro. They look really good on the car, that's the only complaint I have. I was thinking about getting something made up. If you can swap let me know.

I guess everyone has different taste which is cool - I like the flush caps personally and it was literally an hours work to modify the stub axles as Dave (Menangler) explains above and dust caps.
