all external welding completed,roof,a pillars,b pillars and rear quarters and door tops.

STOPPA have u chopped a top before i read though an article on www.volksrods.com man apparently beetles are amoungst the hardest of all cars , keep us posted id love to do one one day , and laern from someone elses experiences "cheaper way" looks awesome good luck...

Nice shape to the side windows. That is what makes a chop.
I noticed you haven't widened the roof. Hope you don't have too much bend
for the front side glass to move. It's amazing the impact that the inch and half

in one of your picson the roof is that a air driven swagger neat tool.
front apron is getting reshaped plus the rear.
i forget the tools name but it was worth $96.00.

next cut n sew new hood linning,thats easy as im a upholsterer with years of exp with rods.
then make rear cycle gaurds and so on,,,,,,,,ect.
can someone tell me how to raise the rear suspension,and also lift the front as it has adjusters,

Just found the thread Great work. If you are interested i have a painter mate that is into vw's and would help you out. He is a very busy bloke but i could put in a good word for you. He calls himself Ace .... something but you would have to book in. Looking at the time it's taken so far it might be a bit of a push. I'll try and catch up Great Work. Did you get your suspension adjusted or do you still need ideas. I have a tool and a table to drop the rear to exact levels if it helps. Dropped spindles are also an option.

This rod is an awesome bit of work. Had the debate with the rod nut at work about the virtues of beetle rods.
Once I described all the features that have gone in to this volksrod, he was pretty damn impressed.
Love to see it down for summernats next year to blow away some awards.
I hope to be able to something similar but different in the not so distant future.

You can always import a kit from one of the many hotrod suppliers in the US..... I think CarCustom in LA have a kit.....

What did you do for glass all around. You mentioned making templates up, but did you cut down the old glass, or make up new ones from scratch. Who did you use for the glass?

its all new ,front and rear quaters are laminated.front doors are pilkington glass rear window perspex lexan.
any auto glass plass can do the job.just make sure it comes with saftey labe on front screen.
