Administrivia: Outage for AVDS front page tonight 11 pm

vanderaj · 28 Jun 2006, 12:47 pm

The Aussieveedubbers front page http://www.aussieveedubbers.com is run by a popular content management package. This package must be upgraded due to security concerns.

When

This will be performed tonight between 11 pm and midnight tonight.

Likely impacts:

Features hosted on this server (forums, gallery, and front page) may be a bit slow or completely unresponsive whilst a backup is taking place from 11 pm. The backup usually takes about 20 minutes to complete.
The front page http://www.aussieveedubbers.com will be unavailable for a short period of time after the backup has completed.

Features not affected

The following features will be unaffected (if a bit slow at times):

Forum http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com
Gallery http://gallery.aussieveedubbers.com
Chat room http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/chatroom/ or IRC server irc://www.centralchat.net channel #aussieveedubbers

thanks,
Andrew

Ah sweet! I'm just getting into that myself. Strangely enough, I'm installing it as we "speak" 😉
