Eva seen 3 brothers, on a public train, with CV grease, Heatproof paint, Wattyl Rust something, trolley jack, wire wheel, 2 cans of degreaser, Motor Oil, Auto Trans fluid, Scrub brush, Allen Key socket, 1/2'' to 3/4'' socket adapter... Lol,

And this morning, i got myself my original 1500 semi auto engine that was originally from my bug, THANX EVAN MATE! (he has an awesome project underway, can't way to see it hoonin. Lol)...

Now i'm all set. Spent this arvo using degreaser on my jeans, and then 2 and a half cans of decreaser cleaning out my gearbox and the dust in the CVs, ready for regreasing :P, still need a heap more degreaser, gonna try by a drum. But... Its all there, its just a matter of assembly and refitment!!! :P Am really seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, can't wait to hoon in the back yard! :P

By the way, cleaning a gearbox is messy work, but its in so beautiful condition when bringing it out of the mud and oil. I'm glad i didn't sell it, cause someone would have gotten an awesome steal for $100. :o

When it comes to rust, i got multiple options, got a mate i could pay, or another mate i could bring my car to and get it welded by a sheet metal apprentice for free, as long as i get it there (which i can run through another mate for a trailer :P).

Really am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Its got my sooo excited :P

By the way Evan, thanks for the 34 pict carby too :P, surely will have a bigger intake compared to the 30 pict on the semi auto engine. I just remembered, we forgot to slip those metal bits on the floor of the shed u wanted. :o

Well done Chris! Can't wait to see the car. Did you get your licence? Logan (and Southside!) dubbers should hook up again soon.

I've just reached the stage where I think I can let someone else drive my car, so Brenton and you are top of the list, notwithstanding the awesome Marc who has already had a VERY sedate spin (go HARD next time! It WANTS to be DRIVEN!!!!)

Cheers mate , and hope to catch up soon.

I feel flattered Mick!
Chris, it's good to see the ol' Baja closer to the road.

Don't be silly, without you guys, I never would have got this far with understanding the car! I owe you both.

Lol, we could do a 24 hr car swap ay mick? hehe, be bloody awesome! Licence in 2 weeks :P, wish me luck. But... the baja is getting a lil' bit closer. and i'm beginning to love her a little bit more each day. She seems to show appreciation through the progress of me playing with her rear end.

Did that come out right? :o

RAUNCHY!

hey mick, u aware of a similar kit car to urs floating around Edens landing, i know where its parked. Its got Ferrari tags on it, and we had 2nd thoughts about 3 yrs ago to its authenticity, cause it was blowing smoke sounding horrid!!!

And it only came to me, that its similarity (not Exact shape), but similar shape to urs, giving me the biggest suspicion its a type 3 VW based kit car. The car drove past the other day, and i swore i heard a dub motor, to turn around, and see this 'so so' ferarri. lol

sinecure ·

How's about we wait til the Baja's on the road, eh!😀

bajachris88 ·

Lol, might help in the deal, haha.

But yeah, 😀, got a 34 pict to put on the 1500 (IF the semi auto specific carby can be knocked off, which is only 30 pict), and a set of extractors + hotdogs :P

Might be fun hehe 👍 Nuffin like urs though.

sinecure ·

Where is this kit? Would love to go and have a look/chat. I have heard of a Marauder kit around the southside (Dino Ferrari replica). Was it yellow?

bajachris88 ·

was red!

its on Castile crescent, Edenslanding, Head down into there, u will see shops... go into there. of u were to come out of the shops, it will be up the road in the direction of left (if coming outta the shops). Look out on ur right while driving for it, its right there, and can be seen 5 seconds from driving from the shops.

Sometimes its there. Seems to be parked in City Rd, in beenleigh, out the front of the bank.

My suburbs too poor to have an authentic ferarri that spits smoke and sounds like a dub, lol.

sinecure ·

I've seen Ferrari's for less than half the price of a new Statesman, so nowhere is too poor for an enthusaist to have one.

Might come down on Friday to have a chook. E-mail me a contact number and I'll give you a call and pick you up if you're available.

Chris,
Stick with your 30 Pict!!! The 34 has a wider bolt distance, as well as being a finicky carb.

The 30 Pict is nice, simple and easy to tune.

You don't really want to get into doing that /\......

Kero makes a good cheap degreaser. Some older servos sell it by the litre and you can use a squirty bottle.

spray, scrub, let sit, srpay, scrub etc.

elbow grease is not cheap to buy though 🙂

way to go chris , its all happening great to see . if you decide to take the baja to your mates workshop and you need the trailer give me a holla im only a six pack away lol . the red ferrari is a kit car seen it parked in main street of beenleigh during buissness hrs .seen it over a period of about 5 yrs .

bajachris88 ·

Cheers mate, yeah, i just read up on it, in the books i got, its a no go... but ay, will be handy to keep spare 😀.

Yeah, that red kit car been a while. and Jeff, i'm really contimplating bringing the car to my mates place, was gonna sit with him 2day and discuss it, but was in the middle of being greasier than maccas, cleaning my CVs, and my gearbox, regreasing, refiting starter, then manually fitting the gearbox, and the CVs, bolting them all in, and getting pissed off at bumping my head on hard points, and a stupid trolley jack that doesn't like to budge on grass, and my arms and legs trying desperately to put the heavy ass box where it belongs, Lol. (after many colourful words later) PHEW ITS DONE...

am shifting gears now 😀, just gotta refit pumps, and wire up tubes, and wires 😀....

I'm really sick of grease now :o Lol, i got mechanic hands now too..., But its not gonna stop me. Parents just don't like the mess on the grass though
