'Big Brother' evicts pair amid sex claims
Two Big Brother contestants have been escorted from the set of the reality television program amid allegations of sexual misconduct.
A statement on the show's website says the producers, Endemol Southern Star and Network Ten, have deemed the actions of Ashley and John are grounds for their removal from the show.
The producers say they will not be commenting any further on the "serious matter", which occurred about 4:00am yesterday.
The incident is believed to have involved fellow housemate Camilla.
Ashley and John, in a joint statement made after they left the house, say they had a great time on the show.
"It is unfortunate it had to end this way, but Big Brother has rules and regulations and we broke them," they said.
"We are all very close in the house and we would never do anything to offend our fellow housemates."
Eight contestants remain on the show, in which they are filmed 24 hours a day sharing a house at Dreamworld on Queensland's Gold Coast.
The prize pool has shrunk from $1 million to $275,000 during the contest due to fines given out for not wearing microphones and discussing eviction nominations.
Contestants David, Camilla, Gaelan and Krystal are up for elimination tonight and the producers say the vote will still go ahead.

But over the course of the show they have sold in addvertising alone about 26.7 million dollars, now take from that production costs / wages / prizes. they will still walk away with a truck load of cash so as much as i hate too say it ... we will keep seeing BB in this country untill it stops making money.... but you could do as i do .... just dont watch it

I'm with you on this, I can't stand the show myself. My partner likes it though....so we made a deal, it doesn't get on to our tv, but he can watch it all he likes on his three phone.
Though, we do let the kids watch the friday night games. Reminders of those old team game shows of the late 70s early 80s 🙂

The show is only good for a perve on monday nights... but that has been taken off air now so now there's nothing going for it.
I have one big problem (well theres more but the one that annoys me most) with the show and that is how they try to make out that the people on the show are a representation of the real world. Now if this is true, 50 % of the population are either gay or bi... though I am guessing the 'bi' ones are only 'bi' on the show because they think it gives them an advantage somehow.
I dont know if it will be back again, im thinking that there's a little bit too much bad publicity for it now. Maybe channel 9 will pick it up, they've got nothing else going for them, nothing to lose.
What ever happened to playing Cleudo, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Scrabble or Boggle for entertainment. This sort of shit really shits me. I'm gonna go play some LP's. Commercial TV can co to hell. :P

sells advertising space, makes a mint off SMS - and appeals to the kids and teens ... damn thing has got nothing to do with 'reality', no idea why anyone would watch it or let their kids watch it ... who gives a shit what happens, sooner or later it the whole genre had to implode. Makes shareholders happy though, which is the only thing that really counts in TV word.

Is that true? Every time someone gets fined, they reduce the total prize pool, which is now down from $1 million to $275,000. If that is so, then why don't they discipline each other and stop the chatterboxes who know that they don't have a chance, from doing it? What a bunch of stupid, undisciplined nitwits they all are. It's no wonder that I don't watch it.

i once worked for a lady who went balistic at me for watching Big brother!! She told me it was a voyerism and that i should be ashamed with myself for being a pervert....and then crapped on for the rest of the week about how bad BB is, get a life its only a tv show turn over or dont watch.

last night i watched a show about 4 teens living in a place called goodooga on
compass(abc) their lives 5 years ago & their lives now sad show,depressing show
no future, no hope ,no nothing its a f***ked country for some of us.
ive got an idea maybe these commercial stations can help financially or structurelly
with country people like the abc that is not afraid to air real stories about whats happening with indigenous people & homeless people & a list of others.
but alas that will never happen when theres ratings to be had & money to be made & fools to feed off.
whats worse the invention of the A bomb or the tv to watch the A bomb being used thats what commercial tv boils down to, sad very sad.

mpf.. even tho its crap tv i would still like to keep it here on the goldie as it does a great job for the tourist industry that keeps the light on and kids fed for many families around the area..
we love the tourists they come to the goldie/se qld for a hol empty their wallets and then go back to their lives with a story of bliss and sunshine that then infects their friends who come to visit next holiday.. 😏
theres more to it than just crap tv thats for sure.. i feel it will be around till the money stops rollin in..

has any one here actually heard the tape of what occurred...i just heard it played on 105.3...def not as bad as everyone has been told/thinks...I think the media went over board on it.
I'm not saying its a 'good thing' but when u hear it...camilla is laughing thru the whole thing. Seems she was asking abotu what the 'turkey slap is' and they showed her...she was laughing her arse off...and everyone in the house heard and saw...cause she was laughing as she yells "i just got turkey slapped!'
BB is saying the boys were kicked for a breach of the rules, not a crime being committed. And Camilla said it was a "joke, and she's not offended by what they did"
Given this...I think it got out of hand.
Having said that, I also think the first one or two seasons were okay...but now...its gone down hill. This year I've not watched most of it...my kids have, and sometimes I watch at night (there is NOTHING on) But i usually retreat to the bedroom and watch abc or something else.

who knows, but be great to see the result of all this and waht comes out. I'm just not gonna be trusting any TV though or any media really, so many things and words have been manipulated i just don't have any trust in it. Its all goss, hehe.

Did anyone see the John and Ashley interview that Gretal just did? It looked very rehearsed and scripted. I agree it's been taken well out of context and is way wrong behaviour, but I just wonder what John and Ashley would have done if David turkey slapped them?

It's not rumour - it's truth Chris. Both their real names are Michael, so no doubt they used their middle names as there was the other Michael too.
its aimed at teens, thats the issue. The shows died off in terms of revenue, so like all media it's selective as to what it want to show. The issue then is one of the commercial validation of sexual harrassment in terms of morality and social justice.
But 10 needs the ratings and without 'shock' then it has no value. What will determine the end result will be in the hands of the advertisers, who pulls their ads and money from the show. But then when did morality stand in the way of a good advert, and they need the shock value to justify the advertising revenue. Howard got stuck in just because he needs to show his voting demographic hes old school I suspect.
What it has done is send 10s internet traffic through the roof, and with it, greater exposure for sponsors and advertisers.
Two stupid blokes and a slapper = coin for someone else. The housemates are so tied down in contracts that they have little choice but to go with any decision 10 makes anyway.
Don't watch, dont visit the site, and dont send them money - i mean vote - which is the same thing and it will die off anyway. Commercial TV doesnt make shows for arts sake, but for advertising demographics... 10 are selling soft-teese-porn to teanagers, who watch in the hope of seeing the odd tit... Gen Y version of reading National Geographic....

why if they were kicked out on sat the supposed reply was last night, think about it.

me i watched denton & the interview with the 3 cab drivers, great interview & stories & the cabbies story of the 3 teenager girls a bit drunk(as blind as a welders dog) & what happens was the funniest story ive
heard for years, when tears are running & your chest hurts your laughing too hard.
like a gelignite stick in a 44 gallon drum of chuncky pineapple was how he described the chunder then he cleaned up till the next customer jumped in & could'nt handle the smell
& proceeded to do the same as the drunk schoolie.
this cabby had me laughing for hours😂

i dont get why people want it off air. I agree that its trash, but if its worse than whats on the other channel, then swap over. I cant believe how worked up people get over saying how bad it is. I think Lost is one of the most ridiculous shows on TV, the look of Bert Newtons head makes me spew, those current affairs shows after the news are trashy in every respect, I wont even go to Neighbours/Home and Away, let alone the day time soaps. But I dont scream to have them taken off air. Dont watch/dont bitch about what you dont like fer christs sake people.
The guys did something that I would want to smack them in the head for. But the girl isnt bothered by it at all, the guys were kicked off the show, lets all move on.
A show I do like to watch, desperate housewives, has hit and runs, alcoholism, infidelity, murders, people locked in basements, so many different blackmails I cant count. Nobody is bothered by this show.

That's coz on desperate housewives they're just 'pretending' to be bad. Do it in real life and everyone gets upset...or offers you lots of money to watch.
I think we'd better off if it wasn't on the air (like a lot of other things). I also think Channel 10 is hypocritical for inviting people to exhibit their lives of complete sexual self indulgence in front of TV cameras, but then kicking people out when they exercise that indulgence to it's unfortunate extremes.
And I don't watch it either.

Adults are far better at putting it into context of light weight toss-tv than teenagers, who are bombarded with images that present an un-real world which they lack the life experience to judge effectively.
It not an issue of whether it offends the people directly concerned, but whether the message of 'its okay to do this as long as no one really complains' ... when quite clearly the sexual harassment laws say that any sexual activity needs to explicit in the affermative, ie --- is it okay for me to wave my tackle in yer face? ... yes I wouldnt mind at all' ---
My issues is purly that 10 continues to exploit the youth/teen audience in favour of priofit. The moronic housemates and their paying audience. To use the girl to justify its harmless nature is pathetic and exploitative at best.
