Like the subject says. The rear lenses have clear bottom sections for reversing lights and wired up but nothing I can find relevant to operate them?
barls ·
yes it should have them mate mine ran for 12 months before i hooked them up. they run from a switch on the gear box
CHADMYSTER ·
does the car need to be running or just the ignition switch on!
barls ·
just the ignition on
CHADMYSTER ·
will have a look under the car on the gear box. dont recall seeing any wiring there before though!. thanks barls

From memory it's near the nose on the right hand side. Not too sure though.

Reversing lights on a 72 super was an option so yours may not have them wired up.

Oasis ·
My 70 didn't have them either. No wires either.
72super ·
it said earlier that the lights were wired up so you would think the rest should be there?
VWCOOL ·
There is a wire from te + on the coil, to a large fuse holder hanging nearby on the fan housing, then down to the gearbox switch. If the car has "built to comply with ADR 1" stamped on the compliance plate - if it has one - it must have rev lights. And not all cars with white lenses originally had them wired up

brentons right its on the right hand side of the nose cone
all bugs from 72 on had them
but most 68 -71 bugs have the lenses for them as the all red/amber original ones arent availible anymore as far as i know
my 71 didnt have them but there is a spot for a bulb holder as im pretty sure US had revesing lights standard from 68
theyre 67s even had spot lights for reverse lights on the back bumper LOL

thanks guys. the rear light fitting has got the lamp and it is connected. I do recall the fuse holder adjacent to the fuse as discussed. Haven't had a chance to look at gearbox. Might just be a blown fuse!

I have two supers one has reversing lights one has'nt depends on the first buyer whether they wanted this option.
