Karrman Ghia with 1600 twin port More Power??

I just bought a Karrman Ghia with a 1600 twin port, its good a mechanical distributor, and single carby.
My question is whats the easiest and cheapest way to get a bit more power from these engines or am i wasting my time>??

Start one here.
If it were mine I would start with some twin carbs like 40IDFs or Dellortos,
or even Kads... and an exhaust.
Then when you want to get the engine apart, the sky is the limit!
