Lighting in dash

Can you simply get a higher watt bulb to make your speedo etc brighter? I have after market Autometer Tacho in where my clock goes and it lights up the cabin. I want to try and match the others as best as possible.

Are they turned all the way up?? You could replace the bulbs with LED's...I think this has been brought upbefore..try a search..??

yes... just increase the wattage if you want brighter.

The small bulbs used in the speedo etc are usually 2w..
I'm not sure if You can get any higher wattages..
but if You have a handfull of these bulbs, You will find some are much brighter than others.
Maybe the newer bulbs are brighter than the older ones.

Dick Smith or Jaycar can supply higher wattage bulbs for most instruments. My VDO's were easy for them. Remember with LED's it can be tricky to adjust the brightness progressively.
