starter motor question

Hi guys and gals.

I have a 76 kombi that I need to get a starter motor for and I heard that mk1 golf starter motors are better than stock.

Is this true or am I better off buying a new standard starter motor?

I'm just surprised that a Golf starter motor would fit a 1976 Kombi engine......

I'd go for the Kombi starter motor.....
there are probably heaps of them about....
