Early 1960 or about halfway thru 1960....
Australian Beetles changed to these tail lamps which were used only in Australia and Italy in late 1960-1961...only
They were made by Hella in Germany and are very rare...
After VW sort of disintergrated in 1976-77 in Australia...
these tail lamps were virtually impossible to buy or find...
I did see someone with a pair of NOS lenses last year somewhere....
and a couple of people had one only NOS...
So, a 1960 Beetle can have semaphores - actually called trafficators back in 1960....
or clear narrow front indicators and these tail lamps...
