COUNTRY BUGGY PERFORMANCE FIGURES

Below are some interesting performance figures published by Australian Motor in 1968 to attest the outstanding speed and reliability including some of the best acceleration responses seen since the turbo snail was introduced.

Maximum Speeds
First 18.4 mpg
Second 34.5 mph
Third 52.9 mph
Fourth 55.9 mph
Who ever said that fourth was not an overdrive.

Acceleration (blistering)
0-20 mph 5.1 sec
0-30 mph 9.1 sec
0-40 mph 13.8 sec
0-50 mph 27.8 sec
0- Top Speed- not achieved or tested but somewhere around 44 sec.
Standing quarter mile 25.1 sec.

Fuel consumption 23.8 mpg

Imagine taking on one of those Citreon Safaris.........

that's why mine now has a 1916c in it !!!......................love the approx 4000rpm at hundred clicks😁, but at least it gets there quick !

Didn't know that they had that much guts, based on those figures, just thought it was my driving that kept the speed down.volma1

I guess with my 50 geriatric horses, 50 seconds would be closer.

Fuel consumption was claimed to be 32mpg - I think 23 is nearer to reality. Maybe someone was suffering from dislexia
