This has probably been covered 100 times but here goes anyway
How difficult is it to swap either a split or oval window beetle to a later model pan and running gear.
I have a bit of mechanical ability but am not in the motor industry as such
I live in the Brisbane area so would anyone local do this sort of thing?
What later year/model pans are the best and/or easiest to swap to and what $$$ would they sell for
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Here you go

BEST pan is a 68-69 semi auto pan
Comes standard with disc brakes, ball joints and IRS
you have to add a clutch tube.
SOME pans already have it in.
Best part is you are pre ADR rules so further Hi Po mods and hot so difficult.

2nd best is a 1976 pan.
as above PLUS clutch tube.
Down side is post ADR.

Remember - your car will become whatever the pan is.
A 1952 split window would register as a 1976 if put on a 1976 pan

Um dude, have you read the thread that Barry has so kindly linked for you? That is the only 'major' hassle when doing a body swap. Everything else is a bolt-up
