Trying to find pics of that 67 from Adelaide done to US spec. I know it's one of the guru's so many apologies for forgetting

one of the guys on avd - Wayne (64_notch) has a South African 67 which is same as US spec (big Windows, discs up front early guards and lights - looks nice馃憤
Here is my European '67. The Euro version kept the early guards and lights, while the US version has the late guards and lights with the horn grills. I thinks Mike from Vintage was saying they had a couple sets of the US '67 guards (late with horn grills) Is this right Dave ? Do Vintage have the guards in stock ?

The "67 only" front guards are surprisingly quite common in NOS because
the european 1200 kept the same front guards on the later models.
The decklid and rear apron are another story!
A few years ago there was a beautiful one in Black for sale in Adelaide...factory sunroof I think.
They are a nice car but my fav is the Euro 66.
Same big windows but early lights and decklid with pushbutton decklid and 1300 engine
(but sadly only 6 volt, 67s had 12 volt).

There was a white one at the Nationals a couple of years ago...
Bought New in 1968 from the Sydney VW Dealer...
had all the paper work etc..
was for sale... never saw it again...
I remember 1/4 windows and top of front blinkers were painted white... instead of chrome...
I think there were a few other non chromed bits..
but can't remember... I did take pics though....
Also a French LHD 67 was at the nationals a few years ago too...
Owner had bought it on holidays in farnce then bought it back with him...
Never saw it again either.. still had the Yellow headlamps that french cars have,,,
Lee VW enthusuast since 1962....

one of the VW mechanics up in bundaberg had an imported 69 1200 beetle
it was an odd ball
had the low early model blade bumpers and taillights but late model upright headlights
it had a 2 spoke steering wheel with a little horn button in the center like a bay but smaller
only floor mats over the floor pans, inner guards and heater channels where just painted metal
and the rear parcel tray was lined with that cardboard basket weave that the boot liners are made of
