Matt Ryan ·

good luck on the "good woman", I've heard they are very "rare" even though they made billions!

Volkswagenboy ·

U2U a price/dimensions (EG lowered height) please Craig.
May be interested...
They've made billions of women, not neccessarily good women Matt!

koolkarmakombi ·

Hey Staggers,

I have some type 3 twin carbs and manifolds that may suit for you. Still use vacuum advance for economy and driveability. Meant to go similar to a set of Kads.

I got a real good woman, not for sale, recently polished with a taste for bling! Keep looking but check for baggage and rust 👍👍👍

kkk

Volkswagenboy ·

I have a set of type 3 carbs (Solex) and manifolds, but I was looking for something with a little more bling!
-Staggers.

gull ·

I am selling my mother in law

make an offer

Doug ·

I heard u were selling your mother inlaw too karmen?

ciarog9 ·

I have a couple of 3 bolt struts that have been lowered, pretty severly by the looks of them,I think they take Golf inserts, also a couple of chopped springs,I've never used them they were in a lot I bought.
$50 plus postage for the lot.

Volkswagenboy ·

How do they mount at the bottom? (To the side or on a plate underneath?)
Where ya at?
-Staggers.

ciarog9 ·

they mount at the bottom with 3 bolts, thats what I thought you meant when you said 3 bolt struts.
I am on the Central Coast NSW

Volkswagenboy ·

Yeah man I just had to make sure.
Central Coast? I'll see about getting them picked up etc first.
-Staggers.

greedy53 ·

you would be better off with a really bad woman
more fun

Volkswagenboy ·

They are more fun, but you can't trust them. I want my 'good little christian girl' back.
-Staggers.

Volkswagenboy ·

Okay now I'm also looking for a stroker kit and/or bigger bore for my 1600.
-Staggers.

seagull ·

dont wast yor $ get a subaru in the rear

Volkswagenboy ·

I'm putting the Subaru in my '72, eventually!!
But for my '71 I'm staying VW.
-Staggers.

Volkswagenboy ·

Unless I can do a full conversion for $2000...
-Staggers.

seagull ·

thats 2K I would not wast my time on a VW motor .
I see what I can do from here so hold your $ for for a bit

Volkswagenboy ·

Okey dokes man, I'll have a think about it all before making a final decision but I would consider it.
-Staggers.

HGFS ·

Doubt you'd build a decent stroker for $2K, I'll probably rack up 3/4 of that just on a mild 1600 I'm doing. Sure you can get a crank up to 86mm for $250US and some P&C's for $170US but there's a lot more to it than that. Once you get up to that type of motor you need some serious heads and they will set you back more than $1K on their own, plus all the rest of the stuff.
Not being nasty that's just the way I see it from what I have found out on my Oval motor. With that one I've set my goals way above my budget so buying (very) slowly is the only way I can do it.

Volkswagenboy ·

Yeah I can get some parts on account through work and have them paid off later, but the main parts (Carbs, P+B's, Rods and Cranks) will be from this 2k.
I'm thinking I might just buy some stock bearings/rings and just give her a freshen up (Plus add the carbs and exhaust).
-Staggers.

Volkswagenboy ·

Anyone else?
-Staggers.

seagull ·

I have a RS turbo motor here Jap JDM .Well I have a few of them

I do the stock take & see what I can do but I am sure I can do this for you

1 x RS legacy turbo motor 2ltr quad cam JDM c/w the following as a set up
full loom & ecu , ally radaitor & fans ,WTA cooler for the turbo .
$1500.00

Now if your realy nice ask Ash to send you her adapter & fly wheel set up from here Current Vw project & you just about can bolt the motor in in the after noon .

190 hp at the wheels

seagull ·

O it will have a VF10 turbo

Volkswagenboy ·

Oksy now we're talking, but I'll have to discuss things with the boss (Dad) first...
-Staggers.

hellbugged ·

No way. Absolutely no way. Subaru is 'cheap horsepower' yadda yadda yadda but to get it into the car, with radiator, body mods, pipes, mounts, brakes, exhaust, engineers etc etc will be a $5K + exercise

Volkswagenboy ·

I thought long and hard today about the Subaru offer, no thanks Seagull.
I'll leave the Subaru plans for my '72.
I've decided to just re-ring and bearing the engine I have (As the pistons and barrels are okay).
Still looking for other items though.
