How much HP can I expect?

HI guys,

Is there a matrix or table that lists expected gains in horse power from the addition of ... (insert engine modification here) ?

So when considering doing up an engine, can you compare the performance gains between (for example) the various carbies on offer? Webber v's Kadron, single barrel v's double barrel, single carb v's twin carbs ? And then HP gains between the various piston/barrel sizes, cam sizes, valves, heads etc ....

I was just curious due to the huge range of after market hot up parts that are available out there. It can be very confusing as to what you actually need in an engine, as opposed to what is trendy at the moment.
