help scat shifter install

hey
i bought a scat shifter to today put it in this arvo have got it all the way forward but still cant get any of the bottom gears.( reverse, 2nd, 4th.):cry
it seems to hit on the bottom plate of the shifter. it needs to come forward more has any one got any ideas dont realy want to start cuting into my new shifter yet.
would i need to shorten the shaft that goes from the shifter to the gear box. any help muchly appreciated.

It will be something really simple we just have to find it

I would try your lock out plate make sure it is not upside down

Or put back stock shiter and get all gears and remove and check scat to be the same and install
