Hi, I took the motor out of my daughters car last week. Not as hard as I thought. My question is this. I have made up a sort of trolley from an old swivel chair so i can move it around the shed but I want to lift it up to work on it properly. Does anyone have a picture of an engine stand they have which I could duplicate. Otherwise I was thinking of using a block and tackle from the shed roof but dont want to damage the push rod tubes and cant find any suitable lift points. Any help much appreciated.

depends what you have in mind for the donk - if you are just doing heads and seals and a general clean up then sit it atop a bench otherwise if you are going complete rebuild then might be an idea to invest in a stand on a trolly

hopefully just seals and clean up but you never know when you start.i have all the materials at home to make one. Where do the 2 arms on the stand locate on the motor. Do they bolt to to the main rear bolts etc?

it leaks oil even when sitting. thought it was the main crank seal but it may be allright. It may be the join in the case itself. Want to give it a good claen to find out.

Ask Craig Torrens as he Knows every thing

You can never know everthing, just more than some.
Chadmyster, as 64_Notch was unable to help with your request for info I thought I would post a pic of what I use. Basically its a $55 supercheap item with a Kombi bellhousing bolted to it.:thumb
You can then also run a starter for engine testing etc.
Happy to help with advice:thumb
