Hey Rob, we will have a few Canberra Dubbers there (hoping to meet up with the Sydney guys outside Temora). There will also be some dubs from Riverina VW Club, so we're hoping to make it a great day! Hoping to meet you there.

thanks for the photos

I saw the roulettes a few years ago at the SCONE Airshow

next morning before they took off i had a good look at them...

and the propellers are NOT connected to the engine..

You can spin the propellers around with yoiur hands...

these Turbo Prop planes use the engine to suck air thru the blades...
to propell them thu the air....

Never break a prop shaft... :P:P:P:P:P
but i like to see things connected properly..
now a couple of CV joints etc etc...... :P:P:P:P

cheers

Those turboprops that are in the roulette planes are PT6A-62 model 950shp at 36000 rpm ng, i build one almost once a week, we take em to about 1200shp in the test cell but rate them to 950. Yes you can turn the prop by hand, as the reduction geargox runs a separate turbine shaft to the compressor. Wicked engines, very loud when you are standing next to them in the test cell, i wear a set of earplugs and earmuffs over the top of them, and you still get sore ears, but i wouldn't give it up for anything.
