I love reading old car mags, it is starting to get a bit crazy though, as i just bought 250 mags from the 50s-70s on ebay yesterday. when sorting through them though i had to wonder what my collection might be worth, although i have no intention of selling, i would be very interested if someone could give me some idea of the value of my collection (may use 'investment' as an excuse to get more 馃榾 )
Wheels - i have 14 of the first 15 editions of this, 50 in total from the '50s, 30 from the '60s and about 25 from the '70s
Modern Motor - 36 from the 50s including 8 of the first 9, 25 from the 60s and a dozen from the 70s
Motor Manual - 25 from the 50s and about the same from the 70s
Quest, Autocar, Popular motoring, The Motor, Car - a smattering of each from the 50s and 60s
Popular Mechanics - about 10 from the 60s plus a 1951 Mechanics Illustrated and a '60 Science and Mechanics
Overlander - 10= issues from the 70s
I doubt that the collection owes me much more then $100 so far, just wondering if it is worth anything (beyond awesome reading material) i would have thought there may be a few bucks in the first and second issues of wheels.
