got a prob with da clutch on the bug, its kool for about 10minutes but then she starts to slip when I change gear if I'm not carefull. tried abjusting it but no good.the units only been in for 4years at about 6000k a year.
started about a month ago and starting to think I might have a oil leakat the front of the motorgoing on the plate.
any thoughts?...
Rob.

yep - needs changing.
.
Adjusting only affects the depression/change.
Doesnt affect the actual grip

Did you change both pressure and clutch plates??

robnjo ·

yeah changed both...might pull the motor outand just throw another on I guess in a week or so,got more chrome to go on anyway so that will make it easyer.
can that front oil seal go near the clutch?

is it leaking???

robnjo ·

looks oil always😂

yea on my old bus when we first got it, its front crankshaft seal was spraying oil, But it didnt slip.

To see if its oil why not giv it a bit of a work out to try and cook the oil off.

bond ·

you mean the case seal?

robnjo ·

I think I'll just pull it out and go from there😢

mines doin the same thing atm
my clutch and pressure plate are only 40,000kms old and i checked my main seal isnt leaking so i suspect that when i ran the turbo on it acouple of months ago the stock plate couldnt handle it
it didnt seem to slip but i gave it hell
i've always gone by the rule if u can fit anything smaller than a 10mm open ender on a clutch plate its fuct

While the flywheel is off to do the seal, have the FW surfaced too.

Makes no sense to replace the clutch and disc and not the other friction surface.

If it is not flat it will only be half as good as new(or less)

will pull the motor and take it into Jack. sorta stuck atm with no shed or drive way to roll the jack out. have to wait 2 weeks for the concrete to be finished.
