Feeling a little unhinged

Trying to get the hinge pins out is starting to drive me nuts. Manual says i need a special tool. How does everyone else do it?

A punch, a hammer, some wd40, a strong arm, lots of patience. Keep on hitting, dont let it beat you, and it will eventually give. Carefull with that hmmer though.

Wouldnt have thought it was a job for the garage.

I have always heard of it being done in a press

Yeah i'll admit it got the better of me this morning. Got fed up and moved onto something else. something just as frustrating. tried to pull the strut out but one of the bolts to the steering knuckle wouldnt budge no matter what. after half a day of heating, belting, and screaming I caved in and took to it with an angle grinder.... heheh felt a lot better....

For a few seconds after i stared at the hinges and contemplated showing those pins who's boss but then thought better of it..

I had to get mine off to fit a mirror.

I used WD40 and a air chisel and moil. I couldn't budge it. It even flattened out the point on the moil.

I couldn't work out why the hell the pin wouldn't budge.

THEN I realised what was going on. There was paint across the top of the pin and the WD40 wasn't getting in.

Knocked a bit of the paint away and came out, easy-as!

Make sure the lub is getting in where it's needed.
