Rebuilding VW locks in Australia?

Samblers ·

Is there any one in Aus that rebuilds locks for VW's?

Mine are slack as a yaks twat and very worn, so I really want to get the whole set rebuild for one key (this is for a splitty)

Any ideas?

Any locksmith should be able to do it....I got a set rebuilt from a lock smith here some years ago for a type 3..he just replaced the innards and keyed alike. Was as good as new.

Oh, cool. Do they keep a stock of all the little square-holed thingies that you need then?

Are they not VW specific?

I always just assume with these things that theres a guy somewhere in a land far far away who i'm going to have to mail my bits to at great expense!

The tumblers are not a drama for a locksmith who knows thier stuff. They are pretty much generic.Yellow pages could be your friend.Ring one up and ask....i just assumed any locksmith could do it.They do in Townsville so the "big smoke" should be easier..It's not a big deal to do.
