Well what a great start to the morning on a 10hr shift.. get woken up by my mum at 6.45..babe i need your help..i think what the hell are you on or whats happened, she's like theres 3 baby ducks stuck in our pool. im like what the hell your insane. i get out thereand theres 3 little baby ducks swimming around in our pool, there was one baby duck thought it was going to die, was frozen as. we couldnt do much because the mummy and daddy duck where rather angry you could say . Something managed to scare them off so me and mum are getting everything to scopp these baby ducks out. My pool is not the warmest either. Managed to get the first one that couldnt really move out , put it in the sun. Then the other 2 left where the hyperactive ones, thought they would play silly bugger and not get out. after like 20mins of chassing these ducks in the water and fearing for there life because they thought it would be fun to go in the scimmer box, we FINALLY got them all out. Then the mummy and daddy duck came back and took the 2 hyperactive ones but left the poor other baby duck:cry. We Tried everything to get the mummy duck to take this little duck back but they just waddeled off, so we took the other little baby duck and put it in a little box with a little towel and let it lay in the sun , because it was that frozen it couldnt walk. Will be taking it to rspca or some animal thing soon.:kiss

it's the cutest..

dont get the wrong idea..but

yes it is actually quite cute

Get rid of the ducks in the pool, we got the same thing happening every year, yes their cute but when they crap in the pool it releases a nice virus that can seriously make us very sick. Good luck with the RSPCA and hope the little fella pulls through.

ang3lsholocaust ·

i know we have the same problems, the ducks only like our pool out of our whole street, we didnt have the cover on our pool because of it being winter, they usually go away

sandwich size !!!!!

oh, pet duck? oddly enough the best sure fire way we have found for getting ducks to stay out of the pool is putting plastic ducks in the pool. friends of ours sent us some semi realistic ones from sydney and we havent had one duck in the pool since when the plastic ones are in.

ang3lsholocaust ·

haha iwish i could keep it , but thats just cruel on the ducks behalf :blush
they dont come near your pool if you use rubber snakes either

:cry well the mother duck must of had an instict that there was something wrong with the little ducky. We thought there was something wrong with him as he wasnt swimming with the other 2 and they left him behind. We had to give him to the vet as he was slowing dieing..
r.i.p little duckie

Duckling L' Vernors

Ingredients & Directions

4 lb Duckling; Quartered

Salt & Pepper; To Taste
24 oz Vernors Ginger Ale; *

2 Ginger; Slices 1/4" Thick

1 c Orange Juice

1/2 c Brown Sugar; Dark, Packed

1/2 c Orange Marmalade

2 T Mustard; Dijon Style

1 T Scallions; Minced

1/4 c Brandy

----------------------------------GRANISH---------------------------------- Orange Slices

* If you can't get Vernor's Ginger ale, use regular ginger ale but double the amount of fresh ginger to
4 slices, and add a dash of vanilla to the orange

juice. This will approximate the flavor of the real thing. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++ Remove fat from cavity of duck; cut off extra neck skin. Wipe quartered pieces with damp cloth, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place skin side down on roasting pan. Bake 50 minutes. As duck bakes, combine Vernors and ginger slices in saucepan. Simmer until reduced to 1 cup. Add orange juice, brown sugar, marmalade, mustard, scallions and 2 T brandy. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until mixture is like a thin syrup, 20 to 25 minutes. Remove ginger. Turn duck skin side up, drain fat, and baste thoroughly with Vernors sauce. Return to oven; bake another 45 minutes, basting every 10 minutes. Add remaining brandy to sauce and simmer until thickened. Remove duck to heated plater and pour on the sauce. Garnish with orange slices and serve.
