1303 Super Beetle modified body - different

here is a pic of a modified body on a 1973 1303 Super Beetle in the USA...

Very Different...

Chevvy Vega tail lamps - very rare - even in the USA..

Not sure what the headlamps were from...
probably early FORD or Chevy cars...
they do look familar...

Side rear window covers....... ? Yikes...

We all see Our Beetles differently....
and the 76 year old owner of this beetle must think its
great looking......??

take off all the louvres... no matter how much i look at it i dont dislike the headlight or taillight treatment half as much as i feel i should.

the louvers spoil it
headlights are um... different
i'm pretty sure their mid 70s trans am
it looks so stupid with the wrong bumpers on
specially on the back
it should have those huge US spec dodgemcar bumpers
thats why the back one is sitting up so high

76 year old men still have taste im sure, he probably loves that bug to death. The louvres to me are over kill. I guess everyone likes to make a statement in one way or another?

Yes the louvres are a bit over the top...
especially in bright yellow.... only My opinion..

I really don't mind the headlamps...
something different....
and the tail lamps are OK...

but the rear Bumper looks terrible.... IMHO...

the pic of the engine looked very familar....
[although its been painted again since then...]
so did the dining room... :P:P:P

ah, so thats what it is, that back bumper was throwing me and i couldnt figure why.

as long as the owner luvs it who cares
not like superbeetles are an endangered species in the US like they are here
US never had a convertble phase like aus did
if u wanted an open top bug u just went and bought a carbrio easy as
