looking to buy mk3 1996

i'm looking at buying a 1996 golf manual 1.8ltr 3dr hatch. it's got 78k's on the odometer with regular servicing and books to backup the figure.

just wondering if there is anything i should look for that might show me that it could be a bad car? are theer any major problems with these? and whether this would be a good buy.

ps, its 8999 from a dealer in vic.

get your NRMA people to check it over , may cost $150.00 ?? but you get the run down one the car

NRMA dont understand these cars unless the guy has actually worked on them before .

Send me an email I'll give you a list of everything that fails on them .
