Howdy All,

I have just purchase a late 1960's type 3 squareback and I'm wanting to get it roadworthy before I start really cleaning her up. I was wondering if any of you guys know of any good cheap places around the Melbourne area where I should take her?

Cheap? Perhaps you should be looking for Honest and Trustworthy rather than cheap!

If you are Western Suburbs see Kurt Deer Park 9363 2146. Does all my major Beetle and Kombi stuff. Honest and trustworthy. His father who is an EX VW mechanic Germany is still tinkering around most days, although retired now.

Try Abarth Automotive in South Melbourne. They did a great rebuild on my 68, installed new cross drilled rotors, new twin 36 webers and the list goes on....
Ask for Steve on 96904348. Honest trustworthy and very reasonably priced.

Thanks guys for your all your info.
I spoke to Volkshome who were so helpful.
They are willing to split the work over a few months if needed (most likely)
Extremly friendly as well.
Thanks Sulla for the advise about looking for an honest and trustworthy mechanic rather than a cheap one... I was thinking with my wallet and not my brain...
