hey vwjon, that car in your avatar kind of looks like a shed on wheels......is that what shedride means? Anyway mine is a driveway find, but I'm happy to use the term hoodride.....phrases/terms are coined to fill voids, and that's what the term hoodride has done, I guess. Communi-katso's!

I always prefer the term Ratlook. Hoodride doesn't seem right unless you come from the 'hood' of your local city. I do and have never been called a hoodie.I guess its owners discretion.

Is it just me or does this crap get brought up and over trivialised every month or so. Mate, its a car, nothin more, nothin less. I could call mine a friggin space ship to every old bag down main street, but they all know its just a car.

i believe in the right to free speech, how ever there sould be guidlines within which to exercise it, i see the people have spoken and voted, there fore i will go along with the hood ride, as much as i detest the meaning and what i believe it stands for, once again the yanks get their way.

cmon, Jon. Self deprecating humour is something aussies are used to. To liken your pride and joy with a car which is lacking due care and maintenance, because it's owner is in the lower working class (ie. are from the hood) is surely just a bit of tongue-in-cheek fun right? No need to blame 'the yanks'. There govt/puritan/army/corporate way might be crap, but it doesn't mean there aren't a whole lot of really bright and creative citizens over there, amongst the 300M of them. :blah
