It could be very old and very Rare....

but many of the early Aussie fibreglass bodied VWs from the 50s were ugly as ....
Anyone know whether it would fit on a VW chassis??

It looks to me like it was meant for a beetle floorpan, but someone has cut it to fit onto a shortened pan to perhaps make it look a little bit better.

maybe it's a mk2 carlita or something, coz the ones I know look quite different to that...
here's Hel-70Y's carlita...
Here's another carlita that belongs to another mate of mine...

Well geez Pete ...."carlita" and Kalita seem different...mine was registered and was done as a "Kalita" which was on the rego papers. The one in question was on this site last year sometime...I think someone wanted to buy it or had just bought it???? A search might reveal for those interested.I do remember the previous owner had cut it in half to transport it on a box trailer?? Who knows...🥲
