How heavy is a 1600 Complete Motor?

Thats right How heavy is a standard 1600cc engine, I was thinking about 100kg, but two men can easily lift one, which makes me think that it would be lighter than that.

So How Heavy?

Cheers

Dont tell me they are going to put it in the post ?

Everything that I have read about engine weights says that a Type 1 VW engine weighs 85 kilograms and a Type 3 or 4 weighs 100 kilograms.

First Quote from TNT is $512.81 +GST at $51.28

that quote seems a little excessive for a little motor!!🙁
i would say my motor would be between 85-90kg kim can lift it on his own

any luck trying a differnt freight company?

MickH ·

Try your friendly bus company...Greyhound etc. They move that stuff as well and are cheap!! I got a subi engine from Darwin to Townsville for $110 depot to depot.

or you could try toll ipec , let me know how you go

I moved a 1200 engine complete from QLD to ACT last year, it tipped the scales at 92kg. Look for the smaller transport companies, I got this one moved for around $110.

Try Border Express

Try asking people on here.

We got a body kit from Newcastle to Adelaide & it didn't cost a cent.

Depending on how urgent it is, you have a lot of shows coming up over the next few months, & a lot of people travelling interstate to get to them.

1600 basic motor is 78kg (no oil) - so add tinware, intake, gen, etc.. on top of that if applicable.
