Already been there, don't just check it out - bookmark it!
Great to find somewhere with Aussie paint info too. Site looks like early stages should be lots more to come.
68 Autobug, bit harsh man, give 65 busser a chance, it is in the birth stages.......Great to see a site that is really a needed site here in oz. We are really lucky to have some unusual accessories and specifications that make our oz cars individual on the world market. flash kits, headlight covers, air vents etc.... Im waiting for the roo shooting platform to be found in the m. code section......keep up the good work.....cheers...zsolt brisbane..

Just making it clear it's not my site, I just reckon it deserves credit. Very Lee comment Lee. You do master in stating the completely bloody obvious.

I do know that at the Volkswagen Australasia factory at Clayton in Victoria was making Beetles, type 3s, type 2 kombis, Datsun 1600s [live axle model][IRS imported only]
Mann trucks and Mercedes Benz trucks....
At the factory was a large paint dipping Vat....
in which whole cars were dipped... and trucks...
except the Datsun 1600s - they were not dipped...
I was told this recently by A VW trained mechanic who lives a few towns away and saw this happening at the factory the day He visited it.... He is now retired...

That site is John's, probably has one of or if not the best collection of Volkswagen stuff in Oz. My 'Guru'...always very helpful too when it comes to any information you might need.:thumb

No live axle Datto 1600s built at Clayton, Lee. The live axle wagons were imported
