A few months ago I went to look at a Multivan at the local dealer. Was a crap experience to say the least, the salesman was almost interested in his job.
So went back for another look this week. The sticker price is scary at some 60k. Guess it's the first 18 months depreciation that is the killer...anyway...nice machine...the $88k "Sport" version was very nice too ... but it seemed a little exy for the old family budget.
Went over the road to my old mate at the Sube dealer, whom I've bought 4 new Subes from over the last few years ... just to go an look at the 7 seat Tribeca. Now that is one ugly car.
Its not 7 seats. It's 5, a dickie seat that kills the boot is something you get from Littles Child Restraints ... how do car makers get away with this stupid claim and price hike for 7 seats!...and it's the same money as the TDi Multivan on the road!
So I guess, that given my financial radar is stuck in 1991 and I really need to accept the fact that things now cost more ... I have to say, the T5 looks like a value for money, given it will probably still be worth 20k in 10 years time.
...but, the nice fella at the Sube shop gave us a new Liberty Outback 3.0 auto ... the top of the shop one ... so took it for a blast up to Richmond ... omg ... "keep it all day, we close at 6, CYA" .... that is one quick, quiet and slick machine... have to wonder what the fuss is about with Audis...if only I could get the kids in the back without killing each other, I'd not be writing this crap, I'd be out flogging an Outback....
If anyone wants a Sube, go see Grahame Bell at Penrith Subaru. He's a really nice guy. The morons over the road could learn a thing or two off him. GIVE THEM THE FRIKKIN KEYS!
